<p>Callie Carson, MHA, MLS(ASCP), CLSSYB, is an accomplished laboratory leader with over a decade of progressive experience in clinical laboratory operations, quality management, and healthcare administration. She currently serves as laboratory director at Texas Health Stephenville, a role she assumed in June 2024, where she provides strategic and operational leadership across all laboratory services with a strong focus on patient safety, regulatory compliance, and staff development.<br />
In her current role, Callie has led several high-impact initiatives, including the implementation of a new laboratory computer system, Epic Beaker, ensuring a successful transition through cross-functional collaboration, staff training, and workflow optimization. She is also recognized for transforming best practices into sustainable, everyday standards, strengthening quality outcomes, operational efficiency, and team accountability throughout the laboratory.<br />
Prior to this position, Callie served as Lab Operations Manager at Cook Children’s Medical Center, where she oversaw multiple laboratory departments across the main hospital and seven urgent care centers. Her leadership encompassed budgeting, productivity management, CAP readiness, staff engagement, and large-scale process improvement projects. Notably, she led Lean inventory initiatives resulting in significant waste reduction, managed numerous new instrument and testing implementations, and played a key role in expanding point-of-care testing across multiple clinical sites.</p>
