Protecting Critical Information through Knowledge Management and Transfer

Labs depend heavily on specialized expertise, yet much of that knowledge resides in the minds of experienced staff. When employees retire, change roles, or leave the organization, critical knowledge can disappear with them. This workshop will introduce lab managers to the fundamentals of knowledge management and provide practical tools for identifying, capturing, sharing, and retaining critical knowledge.

Participants will learn how to identify and map critical knowledge in the lab, reduce operational risk, build methods to document and share critical knowledge, and build a culture where knowledge is treated as a valuable laboratory asset.
