Improving Safety Culture While Reducing Risk: Facilitating Better Changes

<p>Most labs have safety policies; training; and procedures in place. The harder part is getting those expectations to carry through into everyday decisions and habits. So; how can lab leaders move a lab from a culture centered on compliance and required behaviors to one where staff consistently choose safe practices; even when no one is watching?<br />
Workshop attendees will explore a layered approach to strengthening safety culture by addressing the factors that influence how people actually behave at the bench and across the lab. There are several key stages and many elements to help achieve a true culture of safety. Through group activities; interactive exercises; and peer-to-peer sharing; attendees will practice identifying where safety culture can break down and determine positive changes they can make to reinforce safer behaviors within their own teams.<br />
This interactive workshop will equip lab leaders with practical tools to evaluate and manage risks before they become incidents; drawing on hands-on exercises; peer insights; and guidance from a seasoned expert instructor. </p>
<p>Who should attend this workshop? This workshop is designed for lab managers; safety managers; and other leaders responsible for protecting staff and ensuring a strong safety culture in their laboratories.<br />

List various elements that can be used in each stage.<br />
